Saudi Arabia occupies most of the Arabian Peninsula in Western Asia. Arabic is the main language. Most of the country is desert, with vast sand regions in the interior and mountains running along the Red Sea in the west. Its arid climate has large temperature differences between day and night and low rainfall. Its history rooted in Islamic culture, traditional architecture and food culture including dates are widely known.
