Argentina is located in the southern part of South America, facing the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Spanish is the main language, and the country stretches a long way from north to south. The southern region of Patagonia is known for its glaciers and dramatic landscapes, while parts of the north are subtropical. Argentina is the birthplace of tango and is also known worldwide for its beef and its football culture.
